Talking about sex with your children can be extremely confusing, scary, or even uneasy. Show guest, Remi Newman and Melissa Risso discuss how to talk to your children in ways that are informative for both you and your child(ren), when and what type of specific information should be discussed, and overall what type of conversations should be taking place around the subject. Remi Newman received her Master's in sexuality education from New York University in 2001. Her background consists of sex education with youth and adults ranging from safer sex, issues of libido, erectile dysfunction, sex ed for transgender youth, youth living with HIV, and helping medical providers take a sexual history. In addition, she is currently working as the clinical health educator for the HIV and STI team at a large medical center located in Santa Rosa, CA. Her current interest is in infant and child sexuality which began when her son was born 8 years ago, and today she offers a workshop for new parents titled "Having the Talk Before They Can Talk" to empower parents to feel confident as the primary sex educators for their children.
